Pedaling for Hope
On Saturday, September 8th 2012, join us in ‘pedaling for hope’ as we raise funds for MCC's response to the food crisis in the Sahel. You can also learn more with this Fact Sheet provided by the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
Two routes have been chosen in order to appeal to a wide variety of people’s skill level - a 20 km flat loop in the country around the Abbotsford airport and a 40km ‘rolling’ loop heading north toward the Fraser River, then turning west before heading south to the border - print a copy from the links above or maps will be available on the day of the ride. Both routes will begin and end at the Tradex Building.
There is no fee to ride - simply register by sending an email to Jon Nofziger at peace@mccbc.com or calling the MCC office 604.850.6639 or 1.888.622.6337. As this is a fundraising event, we ask that each cyclist attempt to raise funds through various contacts. All donations of $10 or more will be receipted for a charitable donation. See instruction sheet for information on collecting and submitting funds to MCC.
Participants are asked submit their donations at the Donations booth inside the Tradex prior to the ride. Then meet in front of the building at 8:30 am for an orientation to the ride. Helmets are mandatory and water bottles are strongly suggested. See tips for a safe and comfortable ride.
